A Message From The Commanding Officer

Welcome! Our Naval ROTC Unit is located in Converse Hall on The Ohio State University campus just north of downtown Columbus, Ohio. The Naval ROTC unit's mission is to educate and train qualified young men and women for service as unrestricted line commissioned officers in the Navy or Marine Corps. The nationwide NROTC Scholarship Program fills a vital need in preparing mature young men and women for leadership positions in an increasingly technical Navy and Marine Corps. OSU contributes significantly to that mission.
Your time here at OSU will be enriched with a multitude of unit and university activities, such as the sailing team, drill team, choir, band, rifle-pistol team, engineering societies and sports clubs. Your fellow midshipmen are members and contributors to the overall university and local communities. You can expect to be engaged and challenged mentally, physically and morally in the course of your multi-year journey towards a commission in the US Navy or Marine Corps. The program here at OSU Naval ROTC is designed to foster your development in each of those areas and to provide to the Fleet or Marine Corps the best trained and prepared junior naval officers possible.
A wide range of majors awaits you here at OSU. About 50% of our battalion currently pursues a technical major. Your degree from OSU will certainly prepare you for a successful career, whether you choose a full career in the US Navy or Marine Corps or to enter the civilian work force after completing your obligated service. Thank you for visiting our web site. Please feel free to e-mail us with any questions about the NROTC scholarship process and admissions policies. You may click on one of the several links offered elsewhere on our web site for further information. We look forward to meeting you!
Sincerely,
S. K. Noce
