The NROTC Unit at The Ohio State University is in the business of converting civilians into Naval Officers. We do this while the student completes a Bachelor's degree. Immediately upon graduation, and completion of NROTC requirements, the students are commissioned as either Ensigns in the U.S. Navy or Second Lieutenants in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Our goals are to instill in our Midshipman an understanding of the fundamental concepts and principles of the United States Naval Service, a basic understanding of associated professional knowledge and national security, a strong sense of personal integrity, honor, and individual responsibility, and an educational background that facilitates continuing education in fields with applications and interest to the Naval Service.
