Officer interviews

If you are in the process of completing your NROTC National Scholarship application and want to conduct an officer interview with an active duty staff member at Ohio State's NROTC, please contact us at nrotc@osu.edu and we will coordinate an interview via our recruiting officer here at the unit.

Didn’t receive an NROTC scholarship?

Eligible high school students who didn’t receive or apply for an NROTC National Scholarship and college students with more than two years of college remaining can apply to be a college program option.

College program options are students who participate in all NROTC unit activities but did not receive a National Scholarship. They generally have the opportunity to apply for three-, two- or one-year NROTC scholarships based on the candidate’s actual performance in the program.

It is critical that college program options perform well during their first two years to be competitive for a scholarship. The university’s calculus series (Math 1151, 1152) and the calculus-based physics series (Physics 1250, 1251) will also make one’s record more competitive for selection.

Current college students

If you have less than two years of college remaining, you are not eligible for the NROTC program and should contact your local Navy recruiter for details about Officer’s Candidate School (OCS).
