Lieutenant David Seatter is a native of North Canton, Ohio. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and proceeded to work in industry until he chose to attend Navy Officer Candidate School. He earned his commission through Officer Candidate School in 2020.
LT Seatter began his naval career aboard USS SAN JACINTO (CG 56) as the Main Propulsion Officer, where he completed two deployments to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet Areas of Responsibility.
He then served as the Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer of Destroyer Squadron 22, embarked aboard USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69). During this assignment, LT Seatter was directly involved in combat operations in the Red Sea during the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group’s 2024 deployment. After returning home, he earned his qualification as an Anti-Surface/Anti-Submarine Warfare Tactics Instructor.
LT Seatter reported as Assistant Professor of Naval Science and Surface Warfare Instructor at the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit, The Ohio State University in September 2025.
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and various unit and service awards.
